George Chenault's Bio

When one lives to give life to his dream, we who share in that moment cannot but sense the passion in which the dream was conceived. This debut album, “This One’s For You” is the manifested dream of a dreamer who hails from the streets of Detroit.

A brother who grew up on Detroit’s 12th Street (before it was renamed Rosa Parks Blvd.) in the era of the infamous Calumet Show Bar, which sat on the corner of our street. Where street vendors pushed their carts of hot tamales and roasted peanuts. Where businesses thrived, and the young dreamt of bright futures. As in many Detroit neighborhoods, every group of boys was the Temptations, and every girl group reigned as the Supremes.

George Chenault is Detroit’s newest conduit of peaceful, soulful, love-inspiring vocals and instrumental music with a jazz/R&B flavor. This compilation of love and life songs come from the elements that exposed themselves to him early in both the pre-67’ and post-67’ riots that originated on 12th Street. The telling rendition of “12th Street” makes you want to hit the repeat button over and over again.

Having been ensnared for a time by the negatives of the post-riot culture of the streets, George came out by his faith, love for his son, the love and devotion of a God-sent woman, and a determination to see his dream live.

The title song, “This One’s For You” is written to his beautiful wife as is “Sleep, In Love With You.” Listen, and you will want to fall in love all over again.

George established Chenault’s Waltz Productions while remaining on a job where he’d been employed for almost two decades. In 2006, he realized that if Chenault’s Waltz would ever dance, it was time. He left his job, and immediately went to work on this debut CD project. George wrote, produced and financed this entire project on his own from conception to this wonderful delivery.

George’s keyboard savvy along with his musical and lyrical compositions will simply make your heart feel good. Ride along with “Rearview Mirror”, sure to be a hit this summer, and know that it’s OK to let go. Dance to “It’s a Beautiful Thang” and celebrate love. Mama always told us, “What comes from the heart, reaches the heart.” From my brother’s heart to yours, his dream, “This One’s For You.”
